Welcome
You know that moment when an ordinary afternoon at home — a cat curled up nearby, dirt still under your fingernails from the garden — suddenly clicks into something more? When the everyday becomes a glimpse of God's hand at work?
That's what this space is about.
These are stories from our lives — stories about the cats who've taught us about love, loyalty, trust, and transformation. Stories about the plants we've nurtured and the lessons they whisper about growth, resilience, and seasons of change. Small, daily moments that point us toward something bigger: the God who knows us completely, guides us faithfully, and meets us exactly where we are.
The Bible says His kingdom is near, available, real. But sometimes we need to see it through a cat's wisdom or a garden's patience before it truly sinks in.
This is a living library of devotionals — stories that connect Scripture to the life you're actually living. They're here for the moments when you need to remember that you're not alone, that God sees you, that transformation is possible, and that faith isn't something distant or abstract. It's as real and present as a purring cat in your lap or new growth breaking through the soil.
Whether you're grieving, healing, doubting, celebrating, or simply searching, there's a story here for you. Come back when you need it. Let these tales remind you that God speaks in the language of our everyday lives.
Welcome home.
The One Who Watches the Door
I was in a hotel room in Maine, a thousand miles from home, when Patricia’s name lit up my phone. I could immediately sense the tone of panic in the text I read.
A storm was rolling in over Largo, the kind that turns the sky a strange color a few minutes before it turns loud. Patricia stepped out the front door to check on things before it hit. And in that half-second the door was open, Bean saw his chance and took it. Our kitten, barely out of the shelter, bolted past her and into the neighbor’s yard, vanishing into dense foliage before she could even call his name.
